Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the date and time of the show?

A: The show is on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.

 

Q: What happens if it is raining on Show Day?

A:  The Show and Swap Meet will go on rain or shine.  But be sure to check the website for updates in case of a major weather event, in which the show may be cancelled or postponed.

 

Q: Are refunds allowed?

A: Refunds are not permitted.  The event will go on rain or shine unless a major weather event or COVID restrictions interfere.

 

Q:  Can I register a car on the morning of the show?

A:  On Show day, you will not be able to register a car to be in a judged class.  However, you would be invited to place your car in the Cruise-In area, which will include prominent parking for your classic or antique automobile.

 

Q: I registered to have my car judged.  What time should I arrive and how do I check in?

A: Registered show cars should arrive between 8:00am and 10:00am.  New for 2021, there will be a separate entrance for Show Cars, Trailered Cars, and Vendors.  See Directions for map to the new entrance at 1135 E. Parham Road. Once you enter the grounds of St. Joseph’s Villa, you will be directed to the Check-In station and on to your display area of the Show Grounds.

 

Q:  I will be trailering my classic vehicle to the show.  Is trailer parking available?

A:  Yes. New for 2021, there will be a separate entrance for Show Cars, Trailered Cars, and Vendors.  See Directions for map to the new entrance at 1135 E. Parham Road. Once you enter the grounds of St. Joseph’s Villa, you will be directed to the Check-In station and on to your display area of the Show Grounds.

 

Q:  When will my car be judged?

A:  All cars to be judged should be on the show field by 10:00am.  Judging will start at 10:30am and conclude by 1:00pm.  Awards will be presented in the main tent at 2:00pm.

 

Q: I plan to display my car in the Cruise-In.  How do I register and when should I arrive?

A: You may preregister online and save money.  Or you may register on Show Day when you arrive.  You are welcome to arrive anytime between 8:00am and 2:00pm.  Use the main gate at 8000 Brook Road and mention you wish to be in the Cruise-In.  Should you arrive between 10:00am and 10:30am, you may be held at the registration table during Opening Ceremonies.

 

Q:  Can I advertise my car for sale at the show?

A:  There will be a specific area dedicated to Cars for Sale.  For Sale signs are not permitted on cars to be judged.

 

Q:  I will have a car in the show.  May I bring chairs to sit behind my vehicle?

A:  Yes.  We encourage you to do so and share information about your vehicle with admirers.

 

Q:  I will have a car in the show.  May I bring a pop-up canopy?

A:  Pop-up canopies will not be allowed on the show field near the cars.  There are a number of large shade trees.  However, should you wish to bring a pop-up canopy, you may use it in the outer perimeter areas of the show field (not to be near show cars in case of wind).

 

Q:  Where is parking for the General Public and is there a fee to park?

A:  All General Parking traffic will enter through the main gate at 8000 Brook Road.  You will be directed to General Parking there is NO FEE to park.  Complimentary Shuttle Service will be available to take you right to the admissions gate if desired.

 

Q: Is handicap parking available?

A: Yes, please ask an Official Parking Director for handicap parking when you arrive.

 

Q: Is there an admission charge for the general public?  Where do I pay, and do you take credit cards?

A:  Yes, there is an admission  fee.  Cost is $7.50 in advance for adults, $10 on show day, and FREE for children 12 and under when accompanied by an adult.  You may pre-purchase discounted tickets online, or at the admissions gate on Show Day. Cash or major debit and credit cards will be accepted.  100% of the admissions gate revenue goes to St. Joseph’s Villa.

 

Q:  Are pets allowed on the site?

A:  Yes.  Dogs must be on a leash, and well mannered.

 

Q:  Are strollers permitted in the show area?

A: Yes

 

Q:  Can I bring food and drink?

A:  Yes.  However, no alcohol is permitted.  There will be food vendors on sight as well as a number of fast-food restaurants just across the street.

 

Q:  Is food available at the Show?

A:  Yes.  There will be food vendors on sight as well as a several fast-food restaurants just across the street.

 

Q:  Is there some place to sit and eat?

A:  Yes.  Picnic tables are available under the main Pavilion, near the food vendors.

 

Q:  Are porta-potties available?

A:  Yes.

 

Q: What is a Swap Meet?

A: The Richmond Car Show and Swap Meet is proud to offer one of the largest automotive swap meets in the area. The Swap Meet consists of over sixty individual vendors offering various car parts, accessories, and services.  If you don’t see what you’re looking for, be sure to ask!

 

Q: Is there an ATM machine on site at the show?

A: No.  However, there is a Wells Fargo ATM located directly across Brook Road.

 

Q: Besides looking at cars, what other activities will be available.

A: The day will be packed with many options to celebrate antique and classic cars.  Following Opening Ceremonies with the singing of our National Anthem by Susan Greenbaum at 10:00am, there will be FREE antique car rides, a youth judging program, and several special presentations in the Main Tent.  And our very own take on the Pinewood Derby with Valve Cover Racing!  Of  course, the highlight will be the presentation of Awards to the best of the best in Show cars at 2:00pm.  Please refer to the Schedule of Events so as not to miss a single activity!
